Below are agencies and organizations that assist individuals who may be encountering obstacles to employment. Many of these organizations receive funding to help people find jobs, so make use of what they have to offer.

In order to apply for jobs online, you need an active email account. Free accounts may be set up at yahoo.com and google.com, (gmail) among other places. Do this first if you’d like to register and don’t have an account. This can be done at most libraries.

Year-round recruitment for people to work in disaster relief.

**Better Family Life**
Missouri Work Assistance Other Programs Offered through the MET Center and other resources. Better Family Life provides many resources.

**The Children’s Advocacy Project of St Louis**
Provides services for children and teens.

**Care.com**
Jobs in child care, senior care, pet care, and home care.

Easy-to-understand workforce information that helps job seekers, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor.

**Craigslist**
Look for St. Louis, and see the many jobs that are listed there. They also list housing, items for sale, and other services.

**More Than Carpentry**
Learn the trade of cabinet making, including furniture and millwork through carpentry education and apprenticeship training.

**YouthBuild**
An alternative education, construction training, employment, and leadership development program serving low-income St Louis youth.

**Department Store Apps**
Provides employment resources, online applications, and job listings for many of the top department store retailers across the United States.

**Employment Connection**
Resources, training, job opportunities, and support to empower clients to change their circumstances and become employed.

**Family Resource Center**
Family Resource Center’s mission is to give abused kids a chance for a better life by preventing and treating all forms of child abuse and neglect and by strengthening families through family-centered therapeutic, educational, and support services.

**Near Southside Employment Coalition**
Job referrals and placement, job readiness skills training offered in conjunction with local employers, life skills classes, summer job opportunities for youth, and career planning and assessment for all clients.

**MERS Goodwill**
Many programs and locations, including services for veterans. Juvenile Justice helps youth in juvenile detention centers find employment and obtain a GED.

An array of outsourcing and consulting services as well as staffing on a temporary, temporary-to-hire, and direct-hire basis.

A variety of programs and classes, including job readiness, GED, ESOL.

Database of job listings around the country.

**Metropolitan Education and Training Center**
Offers orientation, case management, Individual Employment Plan (IEP) development, and training and employment services. Also offers skill-based training.

**Urban League**
Job Search Assistance, career counseling, job readiness training, job referrals, job development and placement, case management.

Information about wages, unemployment compensation, etc. and a good source for potential employers looking for incentives to hire individuals with criminal histories.
